This glossary or dictionary is but a small introduction to the vast scope of the Gnostic Teachings. The knowledge given in the writings of Samael Aun Weor ranges across the whole of human experience and therefore draws on the world's great treasure of language and mystical expression; what cannot be expressed accurately in one language or religious context may find its perfect meaning in another tongue or theology. | Jnana | (Sanskrit) From the root jna, "to know." Knowledge; wisdom. Has levels of application. 1. Intellectual or general knowledge. Logical knowledge of spiritual things. 2. In Mahayana teachings, this term refers to having a command of all the rational aspects of the Shravakayana (Foundational) teachings. The precise use of this term refers to enlightened or conscious wisdom which is beyond dualistic thought. The Tibetan equivilant is yeshe, which is composed of ye, which means "primordial knowledge that has always existed," and she, which means "to know." |
