About Gnosis
Do I need to find a Master?
All of us need instruction and guidance in order to learn.
“We must understand that we need authorities, masters, spiritual instructors, etc., but ones with self-cognizance, since only in this manner can they guide and help us wisely.” - Samael Aun Weor, Fundamentals of Gnostic Education
Finding a qualified instructor or guide is useful and important, but not always easy. It is easy to create the appearance of expertise or Mastery, but difficult to actually acquire it. There are many who claim "mastery" but who are only taking advantage of others. That is why in this tradition, we do not rely on a physical lineage.
“Do not accept external Masters in the physical plane...
“You must walk with much care in the physical world, since there are many false prophets. Do not accept external orders from anyone.” - Samael Aun Weor, The Zodiacal Course (Astrotheurgy)
“We humans are more or less imperfect, thus I, the one who writes this book, am not anyone’s Master, and I beg people to not follow me; I am an imperfect human just like anyone else, and it is an error to follow someone who is imperfect. Let every one follow their “I Am.”” - Samael Aun Weor
The Master that we need to find is inside: our Innermost Being, our “I Am.” An instructor or spiritual friend can be useful and important in our search for Self-knowledge. But even without such a person close at hand, we can still make progress in our development. In other words, no instructor or Master can save us from ourselves: we have to do our own work.

Quote of the Moment
“Gnostic revelation is always immediate, direct, and intuitive; it radically excludes subjective intellectual operations, this has nothing to do with experiencing and assembling fundamentally sensorial data.”-Samael Aun Weor, Secret Doctrine of Anahuac
